Botox | Dysport Treatment for Hyperhidrosis | Excessive Underarm Sweating

Hyperhidrosis (excessive sweating) can greatly affect the daily lives of people who suffer with this problem. Sweating is nature's way of cooling our bodies, for some people nature goes overboard, producing a sweating response that is anything but natural.

Hyperhydrosis can occur even when the climate is comfortably cool and the person is at rest. This excessive sweating can be both uncomfortable and embarrassing.

How to stop excessive sweating

Not many people realise that Hyperhidrosis can be quickly, safely and effectively treated with Botox® or Dysport®. Many people following this injectable treatment, which takes approximately 30 minutes, report a total cessation of sweating in the area treated, with results lasting up to 12 months.

What is Botox | Dysport?

Botox and Dysport are both Botulinum Toxin Type A (BtxA). Botulinum Toxin is a purified protein, which, when used to treat hyperhidrosis, does so by effectively preventing the sweat producing signals from reaching the sweat glands; hence bringing about the cessation of sweat production in that particular area.

Further information on Botulinum Toxin Type A (BtxA), Botox, Dysport, and how they all relate, can be found on the anti-wrinkle treatments page.

Are Botox | Dysport treatments safe?

Botox and Dysport have been used to treat a variety of medical conditions within the UK since the 1990s.
Both are licensed for UK medical use by the MHRA.

How long will the Botox | Dysport last?

An initial treatment result will probably last for around 6 months. Whilst it is possible for the result to last for only 4 months, many patients report a total cessation of sweating in the treated area lasting up to 12 months. For patients having the treatment for a number of years, the results may begin to last up to 18 months at a time.

Hyperhydrosis | Underarm Sweating Treatment Cost

The treatment cost of underarm sweating is £450. This price includes treatment of both underarm areas and any top ups required for possible ‘break through’ perspiration at 2 week review
